Don Hunter
Senior Advisor
Don is a senior communications and marketing leader with extensive experience of running global communications functions. He has advised CEOs from FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies across a range of sectors, including tech start-ups.
As Managing Director and Head of Communications for two of Deutsche Bank's largest divisions, along with its UK operation, he mitigated the bank's worst-ever crisis, directed communications for the bank's largest-ever change programme, and led global initiatives around global strategic initiatives including the bank's exit from 10 countries.
Previously, he spent over a decade at a top corporate communications agency, advising clients including Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Sainsbury's, and Sky and working on multi-billion-pound transactions.
Don has also worked as an independent consultant, devising a PR and public affairs campaign that successfully lobbied the UK Government to refer a £4bn transaction to the Competition and Markets Authority. The campaign generated 2,000 press articles and 1,000 social shares and was adopted by a national newspaper.
In his work with Atalanta, Don has supported the development of integrated communications strategies across mutliple sectors and led media engagement for the global roll-out of a landmark report on pandemic preparedness and response, as well as supporting the ONE Campaign’s advocacy efforts for fairer access and redistribution of COVID-19 vaccine supplies.
He began his career as a journalist, reporting for the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail, where he worked on the newsdesk as well as being a reporter.
Don is a Cambridge University graduate with qualifications in AI, digital marketing, sustainability and journalism.
