Atalanta is delighted to announce the appointment of three new Senior Advisors—Giovanna Gray Lockhart, Mike Rann AC, CNZM, and Philip Davies—bolstering our high-level advisory capabilities as we support clients to deliver impact on the issues that matter for people and the planet.
Giovanna, Philip, and Mike bring substantial political, campaigning, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy experience to the team, having worked at the highest level of politics, business, and international organisations over the past several decades.
Giovanna Gray Lockhart has served as a Senior Advisor to venture-backed companies, including The Wing, and high-profile US political leaders, including Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. In 2008, she founded Generation Obama, a political fundraising and advocacy group dedicated to organising young people in the successful 2008 Obama presidential campaign.
Mike Rann has over four decades of experience across politics, government, diplomacy, and business and is recognised as a global leader on climate change and renewable energy. He served as Premier of South Australia from 2002 to 2011 and has held senior diplomatic roles, including as Australia’s representative to numerous UN agencies.
Philip Davies is a senior leader in international health, having worked across government, academic, and private-sector roles in the UK and more than 20 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific over the past 45 years. He has served as the vice-chair of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization and has worked as a senior advisor to government ministers across the Asia-Pacific.
They join alongside Advisor, Mungi Ngomane, who has deep experience working with NGOs, political campaigns, and tech start-ups. This includes streamlining and scaling a digital outreach and engagement tool for promoting voter participation and coordinating a campaign to tackle Islamophobia and discrimination. She previously served on the board of the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation (DLTLF) and is currently a Patron for the Tutu Foundation UK (TFUK).
The expanded Atalanta advisory team will work closely with CEO & Founder, Eva Barboni, COO, Elizabeth Ames, and existing Senior Advisor, Alex Spillius, former Diplomatic Editor of The Telegraph, on our growing strategic advisory offering, working closely with public, private, and third-sector clients to deliver lasting, positive change, in complex, global landscapes.
Eva Barboni, Atalanta Founder & CEO, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Giovanna, Philip, Mike, and Mungi to Atalanta at a time when the demand for our strategic advisory work continues to expand. Their combined expertise and global networks will be a huge asset to our clients as they work to deliver impact on the urgent issues of our time.”
