Atalanta is delighted to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Ames as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Elizabeth has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2020 and has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth, in close collaboration with Atalanta’s founder and inaugural CEO, Eva Barboni. Over that period, Atalanta has grown its team from 8 to 20, increased its client base from 9 to 18, and nearly quadrupled its annual revenue.
As Elizabeth steps into the CEO role, Eva becomes Executive Chair. In this position, she will continue to provide high-level strategic advice to Atalanta’s clients, which include prominent philanthropies, multinational companies, global NGOs, and multilateral organisations. Eva will also oversee Atalanta’s network of senior advisors who have served at the highest levels of government, diplomacy, business, philanthropy, and journalism.
Atalanta’s Head of Client Engagement, Claire Fyfe, has been promoted to COO. Since joining Atalanta in January 2023, Claire has driven significant value both for Atalanta’s clients and for the business. This has included overseeing recruitment and resourcing, expanding Atalanta’s stable of skilled copywriters, graphic designers, video editors, and project managers. She has also played a crucial role in operations and finance, which she will build on as she transitions into the COO role.
Eva Barboni said, “I feel incredibly lucky to have Elizabeth and Claire as partners as we enter this next chapter of the business. I have full confidence that they will lead the company in a way that stays true to our founding values while finding new ways to accelerate impact on some of the biggest issues facing societies.”
Elizabeth Ames added, “I feel privileged to follow Eva and take on the role of CEO of Atalanta, working in partnership with our clients to drive outcomes on critical issues from gender equality and public health to education and sustainable growth. I am delighted to be doing so alongside Claire, who has been an invaluable addition to our leadership team, cementing our commitment to impact as a women-owned and led business.”
Claire Fyfe noted, “Since joining Atalanta just over a year ago, the business has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to its core values and purpose. This continues to be an integral component of attracting and retaining such esteemed clients, as well as a key ingredient of the agency’s identity and culture. I look forward to many more successes with this inspiring team.”
