2024: A Year of Impact and Growth

30 December 2024 · 3 min read

As we reflect on 2024, we're proud to share a year marked by purposeful partnerships and tangible impact. Our team’s commitment to accelerating impact saw meaningful results, from influencing workers' rights legislation to advancing educational opportunities on three continents. Here are 10 milestone moments that defined our year:

1. Championing workers' rights with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

We supported CMI in its mission to strengthen workers' rights through evidence-based management and leadership practices. This collaboration resulted in significant policy influence, with CMI's research gaining recognition from Prime Minister Keir Starmer and leading to parliamentary evidence sessions. The initiative generated substantial media coverage across top-tier outlets, including The Times, the Financial Times, and BBC.

2. Transforming education through evidence with the Jacobs Foundation

Our partnership with the Jacobs Foundation reached new heights this year, as we helped reimagine their brand identity and showcase their impact through their Annual Report. We also had the opportunity to conduct in-person training sessions in Switzerland, strengthening our collaborative approach to advancing education and skills development on three continents.

3. Advancing global health infrastructure

A pivotal moment in our work with The ONE Campaign in support of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, came when we helped organise a high-level roundtable in the House of Commons. Held ahead of Gavi’s upcoming replenishment summit, the event brought together parliamentarians and health experts to discuss the UK’s leadership in global immunisation and highlight why investing in Gavi is essential in the fight against preventable diseases.

4. Advancing gender equality in public leadership in Kosovo

Throughout the year, we delivered multiple training programmes on behalf of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Kosovo. These included programmes focused on building women’s leadership skills through training and mentorship, training women from across a range of political parties to run for elected office, and ensuring that women leaders and leaders from underrepresented groups are covered fairly in the media.

5. Strengthening public-private relationships for education systems

At the Education World Forum, we facilitated a groundbreaking side event with the Global Schools Forum, IDP Foundation, Jacobs Foundation, and Vitol Foundation. This gathering secured commitments from African education ministers to enhance collaboration with non-state actors, marking a significant step toward improving learning outcomes across the continent.

6. Amplifying women's leadership in Africa

We continued our work with the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center) this year, supporting their crucial mission to champion women’s ascension to the highest levels of leadership and directly challenge systemic barriers to girls’ and women’s advancement. This has included high-level advocacy and efforts to reshape the narrative around women’s critical contributions across a range of areas essential for sustainable development.

7. Building community through our alumni network

Another special highlight this year was our inaugural Alumni Reunion, which brought together over 20 former colleagues. This event not only celebrated our shared history but also demonstrated the lasting impact of our work through the continued achievements of our alumni community.

8. Advocating for funding to protect biodiversity

Atalanta was proud to help launch a landmark report commissioned by the Campaign for Nature,  ‘A Fair Share of Biodiversity Finance’. The report, based on research from the think tank ODI, was the first study to measure how much each developed country should be paying to developing countries in order to keep the commitment they made in the 2022 Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

9. Advocating for pay transparency

On International Women’s Day, our CEO Elizabeth Ames penned an op-ed for City AM, advocating for the importance of pay transparency in hiring and career progression to support gender equality. Atalanta is proud to be a leader in the Communications and PR industry on this critical issue.

10. Growing our team

This year, we've welcomed new team members who add to our team’s diverse expertise and further advance our skillsets in PR, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and digital communications. We also launched our new Advisory Board, a group of senior leaders with backgrounds in government, philanthropy, diplomacy, and journalism who not only provide strategic guidance and insight to our roster of clients but also help advise on our growth strategy.

2024 has been a year of significant growth and delivery for Atalanta. We look forward to building on these successes and continuing to accelerate our impact in 2025.
